How research time is calculated
The calculator adds your selected Academy level's Research Speed to Research Speed earned from technology levels you have already completed. It then applies that combined bonus to each planned level separately.
Applied speed = Academy speed + completed Research Speed technologies
Effective level seconds = floor(base seconds ÷ (1 + applied speed ÷ 100))
Plan effective time = sum of every effective level in (current, target]
Research Speed earned inside the plan is shown as the projected value after completion, but it is not applied backwards to earlier work. Doing that accurately would require choosing an exact research order.
Requirements are advisory. The calculator never adds prerequisite levels automatically, and Research Speed never changes Bread, Wood, Stone, Iron, or Gold costs.
Values are checked before publishing and kept in step with the live game, but use the result as a planning aid. Temporary bonuses, alliance effects, help, and other live modifiers can change the timer you see.
